Fact #1: Infomercials, You know those ½ hour commercials that are taking over the airwaves. Both T.V. and radio are filled with them, and the “I was broke and now I’m rich,… and you can be too!” (As well as, the “lose weight just by buying this bottle of miracle pills or exercise equipment”) commercials are the most prominent.
Why are they on the air so often? (2 different Real Estate gurus each had 4 infomercials on cable at the same time on 4 different stations as of the morning I’m typing this) They sell well, and they provide Hope. They make it sound soooo easy and simple, and it can be.
But, there’s a catch! I’ll get to that in a minute.
Fact #2: According to a survey done by one of the companies I consulted with, nearly 57% of the people that buy these real estate courses from TV. Or by some other mean NEVER EVEN OPEN THEM!
Fact #3: Of all the people that invest in their education, of which I whole-heartedly agree you should do, Less than 2% will ever do enough with that education to even earn their money back!
Fact #4: It isn’t the lack of “know-how” that prevents you from succeeding; it’s the False Expectations Appearing Real or FEAR! Why? These seminars and courses put the fear of God into you with concerns of inept real estate agents, angry tenants, contractors that rip you off, and closing companies that cost you thousands of your hard earned dollars!
Also, after getting all excited about the “potential to earn”, if you’re like me, you end up overwhelmed with “techniques” when you get back home and you go back to the 9-5 job. 4) If you do hire them for coaching, they spend most of that time telling you to buy more of their services and courses. Been there and done that!
5) Well… I’ll stop there, but you get the idea. Especially if you’ve been caught up in that TRAP like me!
